Ozone Mixing and Mass Transfer with Statiflo

How do you get the most out of every bubble of ozone gas? In this Pinnacle Academy episode, host Sannel Patel sits down with Carl Wilkinson, Technical Director, and Rebecca Gernetzke, Business Development Manager, from Statiflo to talk about how static mixer gas dispersion systems improve ozone gas-liquid mass transfer.

Carl and Rebecca explain why mixing matters so much for ozone, and how breaking large gas bubbles into a uniform bubble size distribution increases surface area and drives mass transfer efficiency toward 95 percent. They walk through the sidestream plus mainline static mixer approach using Venturi injection, and how systems are designed to handle variable operating ranges through multiple sidestreams and careful management of pressure drop.

The conversation also covers how to measure good mixing results, the trade-offs between pressure loss and energy, when CFD simulation adds confidence to a design, and lessons from real projects, including footprint constraints and avoiding overly rigid design assumptions. They close with a look at AOP applications and where ozone mixing technology is headed.
