The Assembly Technician 2 is a mid-level position responsible for performing product assembly with minimal supervision and assisting with quality assurance testing and verification. This role requires a working knowledge of multimeters and related equipment, as well as an understanding of wiring lists to ensure proper assembly. Basic PC skills are required to utilize production software for documentation and communication purposes. The technician will also contribute to QA processes to verify product functionality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Assembly: Perform product assembly with minimal supervision, following wiring lists and detailed assembly instructions.
  • Multimeter & Equipment Usage: Use multimeters and other relevant equipment to test electrical components, ensuring accurate assembly and functionality.
  • PC Operations & Software: Utilize basic PC skills and production software for logging production data, reviewing assembly instructions, and communicating with the team.
  • Wiring Lists: Interpret and apply knowledge of wiring lists to ensure accurate connections and product functionality.
  • Assist with QA Testing: Support quality assurance testing and verification processes, working with QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor assembly issues or escalate more complex problems to supervisors as needed.
  • SOP/QA/EHS Compliance: Follow all relevant standard operating procedures, quality assurance guidelines, and environmental health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Basic PC skills and familiarity with software used in production environments.
  • Proficiency with multimeters and similar testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of wiring lists and electrical component assembly.
  • Previous experience with minimal supervision in an assembly environment.
  • Basic understanding of quality assurance processes and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • May require standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to electronics and electrical testing equipment, following strict safety guidelines.
