Thoram Charanda

Chief Science Officer

Thoram Charanda is the Chief Science Officer at Pinnacle Ozone Solutions. He brings over 34 years of experience to the company. At Pinnacle, he manages the research and development laboratory and establishes the preliminary design parameters for new ozone projects. He also performs ozone demand/decay, disinfection, oxidation of target contaminants, and advanced oxidation process studies.

Thoram attained his B.S. degree in Chemistry at the University of Florida in 1989. He went on to work for the Walt Disney World Company from 1990 to 2008. He was in charge of the new water chemistry department at the Living Seas as a part of the Life Support department. During his time there, his responsibilities expanded to caring for all the major aquatic animal habitats in the new Animal Kingdom park.

He came on board here in 2008 to create, build, and manage the new ozone R&D division. Over his professional life, he has gained advanced knowledge in water treatment technologies spanning a number of industries, including aquariums, aquaculture, hydroponics, industrial wastewater, municipal drinking water, plants, ballast water, groundwater remediation, and wastewater. He enjoys participating with the talented professionals on the team in producing creative solutions for such a wide range of water treatment challenges.

Thoram loves a good espresso latte, so much so that he has an espresso machine both at home and at the lab. He thrives off his morning and afternoon lattes! Exploring deeply spiritual topics and expanding his knowledge of how the universe and life work is a passion of his, and he also enjoys trail hiking, exploring natural wilderness, paddleboarding, and doing CrossFit!
