The Senior Assembly Technician is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for leading assembly tasks, providing direct customer support, and troubleshooting complex automation systems. This role serves as a team leader and key liaison between the assembly floor and the engineering department, ensuring that technical challenges are resolved efficiently. The Senior Assembly Technician will leverage advanced technical skills and provide support both internally to the engineering team and externally to customers, ensuring high-quality assembly, testing, and repair of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of assembly technicians, providing guidance, training, and technical expertise to ensure efficient and accurate product assembly.
- Direct Customer Support: Communicate directly with customers to resolve technical issues, provide product information, and offer assembly-related solutions as needed.
- Automation Systems Troubleshooting/Repair: Troubleshoot and repair complex automation systems and equipment, applying advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to resolve issues.
- Technical Support to Engineering: Collaborate closely with the engineering department to provide technical feedback, troubleshoot production challenges, and assist with product development and testing.
- Advanced Assembly Tasks: Perform advanced and specialized mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, ensuring all work adheres to company standards, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
- Diagnostic Equipment Expertise: Utilize diagnostic tools and multimeters to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues during assembly and final testing.
- SOP/QA/EHS Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP), quality assurance (QA) standards, and environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in all skills required for Assembly Technician 3.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading teams and providing mentorship.
- Advanced understanding of automation systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to interpret and work from complex mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Customer service experience with the ability to provide clear, technical communication to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience providing technical support to engineering teams, contributing to product development and continuous improvement efforts.
