The Mechatronics Technician is a highly skilled professional responsible for integrating mechanical, electrical, and computer systems into advanced automation and manufacturing solutions. The role requires demonstrated technical expertise, including advanced PC skills with CAD and development software, and the ability to take ownership of complex projects. The Mechatronics Technician will provide design and technical support to the engineering team and ensure that automated systems and equipment are optimized for performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Ownership: Lead and manage the assembly, integration, and testing of mechatronic systems, from concept to completion, ensuring all project milestones are met.
- Advanced PC Skills: Utilize advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for mechanical design and/or development software for programming and troubleshooting automated systems.
- System Integration: Combine mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems to create fully functional and optimized automated solutions.
- Technical and Design Support: Collaborate closely with the engineering team to provide design input, technical feedback, and hands-on support for new product development and continuous improvement projects.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair complex mechatronic systems using advanced diagnostic tools, ensuring maximum performance and minimal downtime.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of system designs, assembly processes, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- SOP/QA/EHS Compliance: Follow and enforce all standard operating procedures (SOP), quality assurance (QA) guidelines, and environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior technicians and assembly staff, helping them develop new skills and troubleshoot system issues.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Senior Technician skills, including advanced assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of complex systems.
- Proficiency with CAD and/or development software for mechanical design and system programming.
- Ability to lead projects from start to finish, managing timelines, resources, and technical challenges.
- Minimum 2-year technical degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Strong understanding of automation systems, mechanical and electrical integration, and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with experience working collaboratively with engineering teams and providing direct technical support.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming and robotics.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in automation and mechatronics.
Working Conditions
